But not everyone was pleased with Mufasa's rule. Scar, Mufasa's brother, seethed with jealousy and resentment. His heart was consumed by darkness and a desire for power. As Mufasa and Simba's bond grew stronger, Scar saw his chance slipping away.
On the eve of Simba's coronation as future king, Scar laid a trap. Under the cover of night, he orchestrated a tragic event that would change the course of their lives forever. Mufasa, in a moment of bravery and sacrifice, saved Simba from a stampede of wildebeests but was fatally injured in the process.
